A nice day at the park...

Today was a beautiful day! The kids and I met Alli, Landon and Shell at the park to eat and play. The kids had a great time and ended up playing for almost 2 hours. I think we were all ready to get outside and play a little instead of being couped up inside.

Let me explain the pictures...you might be thinking 'why would kids be sitting on a bench at a park' right? Well, it's Alli and the scent of the popcorn chicken from Sonic that she is holding in her hand. They were like moths to a light bulb. We even talked Hayden into putting his arm around Alli's shoulder (top picture) for a piece of chicken (and he did it).

We really did have a good time and hope to enjoy being outside more until it gets too hot.

I know I shouldn't laugh...

but this is funny! I will get to the funny part, but first a little back story...

My poor Hayden has an ear infection in his right ear that came on quite quickly Wednesday night. They brought him to me during choir and said he was complaining of his ear hurting. When we got in the van he just started crying and was in SERIOUS pain until about 1am Thursday morning when he finally fell asleep.

Thursday morning I took him to see the doctor and he got all sorts of medication plus some ear drops. For most of the last 2.5 days he has walked around with his head cocked to the side (so the eardrops don't run out). He walks around like that, talks to us like that and eats that way, too (pictured). He has been so freaked out by the eardrop thing and it has been hard on us, as well.

The ear drop experience has not been fun and I hope our doctor forgives us for not doing the whole 3-5 days worth...we did 2.5 and I feel like if we do another day or so of the drops we will have to see a chiropractor for his neck troubles.

And I thought I needed a daughter...

This morning Hayden was sitting in my lap and we were talking (mostly about me getting him some "Tony Tiger" cereal...aka Frosted Flakes). It got quiet for a second and then he said, "When me and Parker get bigger and you get old, we're going to take care of you." I said, "Awww, you're going to take care of me?" Then he laughed and said, "No, Parker said that," as he was getting embarrassed. Cute but when I told Chad he said it, he denied it.

I think I'll still continue to pray for my future daughters-in-law.

Parker's Funny Words...

This has got to be one of favorite times in a child's development because I love when they are just learning to talk and putting funny words together. I will make this post my spot to put all of the funny words and phrases Parker says so hopefully I will be able to remember how he says it, too.
