Halloween 2013

This year we were going to go trick-or-treating by ourselves and then we started thinking it would be fun to go with the Bryant family (our Vacation Buddies).  We called and they mentioned they were going in their neighborhood and riding in their golf cart and that we should come there.  Chad texted back..."you had me at golf cart."  Ha!

My boys...Hayden was so sweet to Parker that night.  Parker wanted to be a football player so Hayden fixed him all up.  It was cute!  Hayden didn't really want to dress up so he just wore his football jersey.

After we were done trick-or-treating with the Bryants we came back to our neighborhood and went to visit DiGi & Granddad.

Back to School Bash

On the day before school started the Browning boys, Mills boys and Thornton boys had a Back to School Bash.  The day was intended for fun and secretly to wear them out so they would go to sleep early.  Ha!

 After Party Central we went back to Jill's house where we had Chick-Fil-A nuggets and other goodies for lunch.

Jill picked up this cake.  It was so cute!

We also went swimming that day.  It was a great day and the boys really enjoyed spending it with each other.

On a side note, remember the secret plan???  It didn't work.  I guess the excitement of school the next day kept them up because my boys didn't actually go to sleep that night until nearly 10pm.  

Amazing Wonders Vacation Bible School

We had a wonderful VBS at Airline Baptist this summer.

On Family Night, along with the music, the kids also perform a play.  Airline has some VERY talented children.

Hayden had one of the main roles with many lines.  I was very proud that he learned so many lines in just a short 4 days.

Parker was one of the people who sang and did the hand motions.  Here he is with his friend, Caden.

Time with Shell Shell...

Last week a dear friend, Michelle, and her kids came for a visit. Michelle (Shell Shell to my kids) and I lived on the same street when our first babies were born. We spent alot of time during those first few years of our children's lives walking back and forth between houses and at each others houses. I have so many good memories of that special time. Since then, she moved off of "our" street and I moved to another town but we have still remained friends. Here are some pictures from our visit...

Michelle with Anderson, her little surprise baby. After her feeling she was pregnant, I talked her into going to CVS to get a pregnancy test. We were going to lunch at Cheeburger-Cheeburger so she went into the bathroom and found out she was pregnant. What? Isn't that how everyone finds out they are pregnant?

Baby Anderson is the sweetest thing! He is so cute and is quite a combination of his older sister and brother. Take note of the faux-hawk!!!Hayden and Alli posing for pictures. I'm a terrible Aunt Angela and didn't get one picture of little Landon. Parker and Landon were playing together most of the time and I only got one picture of Parker, too. Landon is 2 1/2 years old and definitely all boy. He is so sweet with his little brother and completely funny just like the rest of his family. Good friends...

I read an e-mail not long ago about being thankful for the friends God gives us because they are for all different needs. One girl may be your best friend since 7th grade, another you and her had babies around the same time, another will pray with you over the phone, another is the friend down the street, another you go shopping with, another is the one you confide in, another is the one that makes you laugh like crazy and another gives you decorating advice. I'm so completely thankful that God has blessed me with so many beautiful friends.

Tuesday night I got to spend time with some of my friends. I have been doing the bible study Frazzled Female with my friends Autumn, Candy, Michelle and Chrissy. We have the best time together, and with 13 kids amongst us, I can definitely say we are Frazzled Females so this was a very appropriate bible study. This was the last night of our bible study so we turned this into a girls night, too (any excuse for a girls night, right?).

Michelle met us over at Chrissy's house after bible study for our girls night.Michelle is one of my funniest friends! She doesn't take herself too seriously and will one day probably be a comedian. This was the impossible-to-open-jar-of-dip so she was making all these funny faces while opening the jar.After seeing this picture we thought we might could make a "prettier" picture.Most of our night consisted of sitting in Chrissy's living room talking.

We ended our girls night before midnight. We are getting old I guess. When we all just had one kid we would stay at each others house until the wee hours of the morning.

Skating and Crawfish...

This weekend we went to Abbey and Avery's 5th birthday party at Hot Wheels Skating. I have been friends with their mom, Jinnie, since 7th grade and she is like a sister to me. Here are some photos...

Hayden...he was a little nervous about skating at first but the more he did it he really loved it. He kept saying, "It's okay if I fall, all kids do." He has now decided he wants to have his birthday party there.After the party, we stopped by a place near our house that was boiling crawfish.Hayden was so cute. He kept trying to peel the crawfish but they are kind of hard to figure out. We kept peeling and he kept eating them. Now that's a boy from Louisiana!

Super Sunday...

During church yesterday morning Shelby, a sweet young lady in our church, was baptized...After church, some friends, the Owens', were having a special lunch and cake to celebrate what a wonderful decision Shelby made. They invited us over to help celebrate and it was a great time of fun and fellowship. After lunch, we went outside and let the kids play. The Owens' yard is the greatest place for kids to play...They have this big thick rope hanging from a huge tree so the kids can swing. Hayden really enjoyed doing that!They also have this old tractor seat made into a swing hanging from a VERY tall tree. You can REALLY swing in this thing...oh, adults can use it, too!
The kids especially enjoyed riding on the trolley (think Amazing Race zip line). I asked if I could ride but think I will have to lose a bit more weight. No, Shelby, the 10 year old was almost dragging the ground but if they get a bigger one I'm so on it!This is Donald riding the kids on the 4-wheeler. All of this fun was followed by a nap...doesn't get much more super than that!!!

Bahama-Mama!

Saturday we had Michelle's baby shower at Eastwood. This girl, how can I explain her...is crazy! Crazy in a good, funny way that makes her the life of the party and definitely not the kind of girl who can have a baby shower with baby ducks and teddy bears. This girl deserved a tropical themed shower!

The hostesses...Kristy, Michelle (the mama and a REALLY good sport), me and Chrissy. We played a few games and these girls LOVE games so we always play them. Then we ate cake...
Her cake was good and beautiful! I have the name and phone number of a wonderful cake decorator if you are interested. Michelle opened gifts wearing her bikini bra top, hat and flip flops...she doesn't take herself too seriously (not that we would let her). I know she is excited about baby #3 and we are, too!

After the shower Chrissy, Autumn, Michelle and I went to eat at Monjunis. Yummy! The new Monjunis on Airline Drive is great and they have sanitary restrooms...promise! That is what the sign above the bathroom says :).A few photos from dinner! Don't I have beautiful friends?

Girls Night...

Last night, we had girls night! I have many beautiful friends but these are the girls that I get together with for my girls' nights.

Sorry for the poor photo quality but that is what happens when your five year old gets a hold of the camera and changes settings. Luckily, I was able to let Michelle fix it. She is a professional photographer and knows how to work the setting on the digital cameras, unlike most of us. Anyways, we started out at Posados for dinner. It was a nice time of talk and laughter!

Afterwards, we headed over to my old church for scrapbooking night. Oh, I love scrapbooking night. I'm not so sure if it is about the scrapbooking or more about visiting with my friends but I love it. There were a ton of people there last night and I got to visit with my friends Betty, Martha, Destiny, Brenda, Lauren, Kelly and Misty. It is nice to get to visit with the girls! Oh, and I did get three scrapbook pages done :).

Michelle, Destiny and Candy are pictured above. This was also a going away party for Destiny from her scrapbook friends. Her and her sweet family are moving about 6 hours away. It is sad to see them go but through our blogs we will keep in touch. I need to mention, too, Destiny and her family are the nicest people. They will have no problem meeting new friends!Michelle, taking a break from scrapbooking. The baby was kicking her hard so she was trying to get in another position. By the way, did you know I get to be there for the birth of this baby??? I'm so excited! Hopefully, it will be an induction and not one of those 2am births!
