Where's the ham?

Chad's mom is in town visiting for a few days. Hayden was hungry and she asked him if he wanted a hamburger. He said yes (which I thought was strange because he normally doesn't eat hamburgers). She fixed him a beautiful hamburger with mayonnaise, cheese and lettuce on it. She cut it in half, put it on his plate and handed it to him. He looked at it kind of funny and she asked, "Is everything okay?" He said, "No, where is the ham?" I will always think about this everytime I think of a "ham"burger!

I am getting married to...

Yesterday Hayden was talking about him one day being a daddy. I told him it was a long ways off but that one day he would get married to a girl and then become a daddy. He said hmmm...what girl will I marry? Maybe Alli will marry me. I assured him that God would let him know who he was supposed to marry. A little later he was coloring a picture and was trying to figure out who to give it to and he told Chad, "I'll just make this for Alli since she is going to marry me." I thought it was too cute!

How do you spell TV?

Hayden's new thing is asking how to spell stuff. Tonight before AWANA he asked Chad how to spell TV and Chad replied, "TV." He asked once more, "Dad, how do you spell TV?" and Chad said, "TV, it's the letter T and the letter V." Exasperated, he came to me and said, "Mom, Dad won't tell me how to spell TV and just keeps saying TV." We both cracked up laughing. That has got to be hard for them to understand.

Today after the boys ate their Lunchables, I let Hayden eat his Skittles that came with them. I had put Parker to bed for naptime and decided I would eat his Skittles. In a little while, Hayden came out of our bedroom from finishing his Skittles and watching TV and saw me eating Skittles. He said, "Mommy can I have some?" I said, "No, these are mine and you have already had yours." He walked away but then came back to me with, "Ms. Stephanie says we are supposed to share in love." I just died laughing. I made him repeat it and then, of course, I shared in love.

When God created the earth...

Hayden brought this picture to me and told me, "This is when God created the earth." I assumed Chad had drawn that neat abstract tree but, no, Hayden had done it, all by himself! If you look closely, that is me in the red, Chad in the purple and he said Parker was in there somewhere. Sweet!
